For students

Study with fewer distractions. Apply with a better CV.

Three free tools for the parts of studying that happen outside the classroom: staying focused, learning from what you watch, and getting your application in shape. They run on your own device and need no account.

Free student tools

  • Focus

One switch blocks Instagram, TikTok, Reddit and whatever else you add. A blocked page becomes a quote, your dodge count and a breathing circle. Set study hours so it switches on by itself; take an honest 5-minute pass when you must.

  • LinguaCC

Watch YouTube with captions on and see each line in the language you are learning and in your mother tongue. Press Save on a line worth keeping; it lands in your phrasebook, ready for flashcards or a CSV export to Anki.

  • CVMate

A single-column CV that reads well on paper and parses well in applicant systems. Paste the job ad for an honest estimate of which keywords you cover. Print to PDF or export a Word (.doc) file.

More from Exzellent

The Tools page has the rest: four Germany tools that need no account (which visa, cost of living in seven cities, how ready you are, interview phrases), the Camera word finder, and the AI CV checker, which gives detailed feedback on an uploaded PDF and is part of the Complete plan with one free try a week.

Questions students ask

Do I need an Exzellent account?

No. All three tools work without one. Your CV, your block list and your phrasebook are stored on your own device. Account sync is not available yet, so a backup (JSON for CVMate, CSV for LinguaCC) is the way to move data between devices.

Where do I install Focus and LinguaCC?

They are Chrome extensions in beta. They are not on the Chrome Web Store yet. When a release is approved, the downloads page lists the package with its SHA-256 checksum and the steps for a developer-mode install.

Does the CVMate score mean an ATS will accept my CV?

No. It is an estimate of how many of the job ad’s most frequent terms appear in your CV. It is useful for spotting gaps in wording; it does not simulate any company’s system and cannot predict an interview.
