Small tools that stay on your device.

Three free tools built at Exzellent for people learning German and building a life in Germany. No account, no upload: a CV maker in your browser, a study-focus extension and dual subtitles for video.

The tools

• CVMate

Build a clean, single-column CV. Paste a job ad to see which of its keywords your CV covers. Print to PDF, export Word (.doc) or a JSON backup.

  LiveLocal-first
  Open the app

• Focus

A Chrome extension that blocks the sites that pull you away while you study, shows a quote instead, and keeps a streak. Schedules and a 5-minute pass included.

  BetaNo data leaves your browser
  How it works

• LinguaCC

Dual subtitles on YouTube: the language you are learning and your mother tongue, from the video’s own captions. Save lines to a phrasebook and practise them as flashcards.

  BetaTranslation: bring your own
  How it works

What is live, and what is not

• CVMate is live. It runs entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded, and there is no account sync yet.
• Focus and LinguaCC are beta Chrome extensions. They are not on the Chrome Web Store. Packages appear on the downloads page once a release is approved, with a checksum, for developer-mode installation.
• LinguaCC needs a translation service. The beta can use a LibreTranslate server you run yourself, or a demo mode that shows captions without translating. An Exzellent translation service is planned, not available.

More from Exzellent: the Tools page has the Germany tools (which visa, cost of living, readiness, interview phrases), the Camera word finder and the AI CV checker, which needs an account.
